About

This site is dedicated to the ramblings of Bill and Marisa.  Our crafts, thoughts, you name it.

Contributors
Editor Bill Meet Bill, Navy Veteran and Network Engineer with over 30 years experience in the industry.  My interest in woodworking started in High School in Shop class.  Growing up my family made things with chainsaws and welders, you need something, you make something.  My dad, being an iron worker, made things with steel.  I connected with woodworking and knew that someday I wanted a wood shop.  It was years in the making and it just keeps getting better.  I have yet to run out of things to build. Woodworking, turning, sawmilling, engraving, welding, and editor.

Contributor Sam Meet Samuel, college student former CSR with Inktel.  I’m not sure that I had a choice about having an interest in making things.  My dad taught classes for young kids and I became his test pilot.  I think I was 7 the first time he had me turn a snowman to see if that project would work for the class.  I’ve always had an interest in art and creating things.  Creating blanks with resin has really let me combine my love of art with turning.  I grew up in a world where there was always a wood shop and always something being built or a project in progress.  From theater props and sets to tearing down my brothers house to rebuild it this environment builds a can do attitude.  Woodworker, turner, sawmill apprentice, artist, and editor

Contributor Marisa Meet Marisa, Office Administrator for Borouz.  Bill told me that he had dreamt of having a shop one day.  I said I need shelves.  I say, “I was thinking…”  Bill then tells me how many tools it will cost to get that.  My father was also a welder and I begged to learn, he made me wait till I was nine.  My parents also made things if they needed them, it feels natural.  I’ve learned a lot from Bill over the years because I am his shop assistant.  The shop is my happy place.  It’s where I spend my work day and it’s where I hang out on the weekends.   Social media, artist, office admin, inventory control, purchasing, billing, advertising, and editor.

I followed your tutorial on the Homemade Jumbo Jaws. very well written and photographed. I was able follow your plan and made my own jaw set.
The unique part of mine is its made out of 1/2″ Corian.
Sounds strange but it was just as easy as using wood without splinters,
warping, etc. And, weight wise its lighter than a steel jaw set.
If you’d like to see a photo it would be my pleasure.
